Our parliamentary work includes giving evidence to parliamentary committees, lobbying on legislation and writing and sharing briefings about specific issues with parliamentarians, as well as supporting care experienced young people to share their views and experiences, either in person or in other ways.

We also act as the secretariat for the APPG for Looked After Children and Care Leavers, bringing MPs, parliamentarians, professionals and care experienced young people together to talk about the care system.

We meet with MPs and peers to talk about the current law and possible changes so that any changes that are made are in the best interests of children and young people and help to ensure that they are able to have the best possible experience of care. When we talk to MP and peers, what we say is informed by what we know from our direct work and research about what children in care and care leavers think and say.

We often work with other organisations to help make sure that our voice has the biggest impact.
