A one-day training event for social workers, personal advisors, carers, and others who work daily with young people in care. Designed and delivered by our Support and Engagement Team, this event introduces a coaching approach to working with young people in care.
Overall aim and outcomes
By the end of this session participants will be equipped with valuable new skills and a powerful coaching ‘toolkit’ to empower and support young people to thrive.
Through this event participants will learn about:
- coaching psychology (positive psych, thoughts-feelings-behaviours, self-sabotage)
- useful coaching models and tools
- the impact of asking instead of advising
- how to challenge limiting beliefs
- raising aspirations; goal setting and motivation
Who is this aimed at?
Professionals and carers responsible for young people in care, particularly social workers, personal advisors, foster carers and residential care staff. This training can also be adapted for youth workers and teachers.
Our training is delivered at your premises or site, with content and materials adapted to meet the needs of the group. Alternatively, we can accommodate small groups in our training room and premises in Islington.
