Run Sydney

24th January 2021

The Virtual Marathon Series is a set of 26.2 miles runs based on the greatest marathons in the world! Run Sydney will take place on 24th January 2021. Alternatively, you can complete it on a different date that works for you. Take it on solo as a competitive marathon and aim for top spot on the public leader board, or put a team together and divide up the distance between you. You could find a partner and run a half marathon together to complete the 26.2 miles, or a team of 4 and run 6.55 miles individually. It's your challenge!

Collect the Series set

Complete all 6 of the Virtual Marathon Series and collect all the medals. Alternatively, put together a team of 6, each complete a different marathon and each collect a piece of the puzzle!

The official date of Run Sydney is 24th January 2021. Runners can choose their own start time and virtually complete the 26.2 miles on the same day as hundreds of other runners.

If you want to complete Run Sydney on a different date, you can choose any date that suits you. You will still receive the official medal.

Run Sydney is a virtual event which means there is no physical gathering. You can complete it anywhere. Most runners will either start and finish at their own front door, or plan an enjoyable route somewhere else to complete the 26.2 miles.

Yes. If you don't fancy a full marathon this time, you can enter as a team of 2, 3, 4 or even 8 and divide up the miles between you.

For example, you can find a partner and run a half marathon together accumulating to the full 26.2 miles.

Alternatively, you can put together a team of 4 and each run 6.55 miles separately on the same day.

If you're entering as a team, you don't have to run the same route together. If you do, please follow up-to-date social distancing guidance.

NOTE: Only one medal will be received per £25 registration fee. If you have a team of 4 and each want to receive a medal, a total of £100 (4 x £25) must be paid in registration fees and a commitment be made to fundraising a total of £700 (4 x £175)

Your registration fee covers the cost of your race pack - which includes your unique running number, safety pins and welcome goodies - your collectable medal, and postage of both of the above.

Official evidence required is a picture of your Garmin Connect, Strava, Map My Run, Nike App or any GPS tracking device showing your time and distance relevant to the challenge.

Your result will be posted on the public leader board.

Unofficial evidence will also be accepted, such as a photo of a piece of paper with distance covered noted. 'Unofficial' will be recorded against such times on the leader board.

More information can be found on the Virtual Marathon Majors website.

We recommend setting up an online fundraising page such as JustGiving

All donations made on your JustGiving page are forwarded directly to Become so you don't need to do anything.

If you're fundraising offline, you can transfer cash into a donation via our website or post a cheque.

We understand that many people right now are not in a position to donate to charity.

We are here to support you to raise as much as you can. If you would like to chat through an idea, get in touch!
